Description
This MOOC is designed to help students understand the impact of new technology in the fashion industry, which has been incorporating new practises in the project development process, production, and final product over the last few years. Two specific aspects are investigated: customization and miniaturisation. On the one hand, the MOOC describes how the increased need for customization of fashion products necessitates designers understanding how the intersection of product and service can be developed through technologies and digital manufacturing. On the other hand, it explains why it is critical for designers to understand how the miniaturisation of sensors and technological components, such as wearable and smart textile, can improve people's experiences.
