Description
This course will investigate nature-based solutions in cities throughout Europe and the world. It will link the key themes of nature, cities, and innovation. We will talk about how to evaluate what nature-based solutions can accomplish in cities. We'll look at how cities are fostering innovation. In addition, we will investigate the potential of nature-based solutions to assist in responding to climate change and sustainability challenges.
This course combines technical knowledge with social sciences to provide a more holistic understanding of nature-based solutions. To make the promise of nature-based solutions a reality, new governance arrangements, business models and financing, forms of citizen engagement, and innovation pathways will be required.
We bring together a collection of diverse films and key short readings on nature-based solutions, as well as interactive forums and practical assignments, in this course to create an online learning community for nature-based solutions in an urban world.
