Description
Biblical figures play an important role in understanding the text's richness and provide exceptional educational opportunities for engaging students in meaningful dialogue about the text's relevance to their lives. This course will examine and analyse Biblical characters, as well as provide you with access to various pedagogical techniques for teaching the Bible in the classroom. We will learn about the challenges that today's Bible teachers face, as well as various philosophical, developmental, social, and psychological approaches to overcoming those challenges. We will also learn about various approaches to studying Biblical stories, such as exegetical, hermeneutic, historical, literary, and gender theory. We will investigate and analyse the pedagogical skills required to implement these various approaches in the classroom. We'll also look at different Biblical characters and stories, as well as hear from some Bible studies and Bible education experts.
Using this knowledge, you will gain skills to use in the classroom and be able to examine and analyse different Bible-teaching educational programmes to determine which best suit your approach and educational setting. If you want to teach the Bible, this course will serve as a helpful guide and overview of various approaches and techniques.
