Description
In this course, you will learn:
- How to predict, question, clarify, and summarize texts in order to improve their comprehension and appreciation of the material.
- Explore your vocabulary by learning new words in context, as well as recognizing synonyms, antonyms, and homonyms. This week improves both reading comprehension and writing skills.
- Learn the construction of engaging words and paragraphs, master the technique of brainstorming, and start writing their own short pieces.
- Dive deeper into the world of narrative. They'll learn how to write compelling characters, plots, and descriptive language to bring their stories to life.
- Students will read and analyze a variety of literature, gaining inspiration and learning writing strategies to apply to their own work. We will discuss many genres, styles, and tones.
- Be a celebration of the students' achievements. They will have the opportunity to rewrite, edit, and polish their written works. Then, they'll present their work in a 'Storycraft Showcase' to celebrate their accomplishments and receive critical critique.
