In this course, you will learn:
- Explain the ideas of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), as well as the science and technology involved.
- Identify and describe current and upcoming methods for landslide and flood mitigation.
- Explain methodological approaches for assessing vulnerabilities and risk, as well as strengthening the resilience of landslide, flood, and earthquake-prone populations.
- Exemplify the role and challenges of science and technology breakthroughs in catastrophe risk reduction from an interdisciplinary perspective, taking into account the importance of social elements.
- Recognize some of the actors involved in disaster risk reduction, as well as international policy frameworks and technologies.
