Description
The complement system, a very important part of the immune response, also known as complement cascade, is a part of the immune system that enhances (complements) the ability of antibodies and phagocytic cells to clear microbes and damaged cells from an organism, promote inflammation, and attack the pathogen's cell membrane.
This lecture covers the system of integrated proteins that help with humoral immunity and inflammation. Gram-negative defense via membrane attack complexes is an example. Activation, function, opsonins, inhibitor, and pathways are covered.
