In this course, you will learn
Identify the five basic emotions that can be manifested through verbal and non-verbal communication and recognize how emotions are expressed through the different attributes of language.
• Relate the processes of expression and compression of the emotional language of words, sounds, prosody, gestures and images with the underlying neurobiological mechanisms
• Analyze some of the variables that can affect the perception and interpretation of emotions in the dynamics of communication and interaction with the social environment and interpret emotional communication within the framework of theory of mind and social cognition
• Test the effects on emotional processing of idiosyncratic and sociocultural variables and estimate the importance of affective communication in the context of conflict.
